Portal

The Portal runs a product for you. You choose a plan, and the Portal builds a machine, installs the product on it, and puts it at an address of your own. You open that address in a browser and use the product. You pay for the machine each month, or each year, until you cancel.

One running copy of a plan is an instance. An instance has:

  • an address — where you and your people reach the product;

  • a region — where the machine stands, and where the data stays;

  • a subscription — the payment that keeps the machine running;

  • a state — what the Portal is doing with it now.

You can run more than one instance of the same paid plan. Each instance has its own address, its own machine and its own subscription. You can run one instance of each free plan.

What the screens show

The left side of the window holds one entry for each screen:

  • Dashboard — your instances, and what they cost. See The Dashboard.

  • Products — your instances, and the plans that you can add. See The Products screen.

  • Billing — what you paid, and how you pay. See Billing.

  • Security — the ways into your account. See Security.

  • Support — how to write to us. See Support.

An administrator sees more entries below these. This manual does not describe them.
